Spiritual Communion Prayer

"As more Catholics around the world find themselves unable to receive the Eucharist due to the coronavirus pandemic, Pope Francis provided an example of a spiritual communion prayer that can be said from home." (Catholic News Agency)

A spiritual communion is a uniting of oneself to the Sacrifice of the Mass through prayer, and can be made whether one is able to receive Communion or not.

My Jesus,
I believe that You
are present in the most Blessed Sacrament.
I love You above all things,
and I desire to receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment
receive You sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You,
and I believe your words, "Come to me all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will refresh you."
Never permit me to be separated from You.
Amen.
